Community

There are many clubs and community groups in the area that are all run by local people for local people and serve the interests of all the residents. We have listed here all the clubs and groups that we know about so please click on any of them that interest you to go to the page for that particular club and find out when and where it meets, what it is doing and how to join.

We may have missed a few clubs or groups so we apologise if yours is not listed here but please do tell us and we will fix that omission very quickly.

THE CONTENT OF THESE COMMUNITY PAGES IS DETERMINED BY THE GROUP ORGANISERS.
The Group Organisers maintain their own pages and any comment should be sent to them in the first instance.  Their contact details are shown on their respective pages.  If you have done that but feel that further action is needed please contact the Parish Clerk

Village WELFARE  is the Charitable Trust that owns and manages many facilities for the benefit of the residents of Thurgoland and the surrounding area.  These properties include the Village Hall  and its Car Park, the Recreation Ground, the  Tennis Courts, the Bowling Green, the Youth Centre and the Children's play area.  The Trust was established in 1926 when the land was donated to the Village and is independent of any other body.  This independence means that the Trust receives no statutory income from any official source and has to  support aaaitself financially.
